Liverpool & Northwest

Our Supported Living Services

Winsome Care Ltd provides specialist supported living services across Liverpool and wider Northwest, delivering person-centred personal care and support to adults in their own homes.

We tailor our approach to meet the specific needs of each person we support.

We are registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to provide the regulated activity of personal care within supported living settings, and we tailor our approach to meet the specific needs of each person we support.

24/7 Service

Our service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. So you can count on consistent, reliable support whenever it is needed.

Person-Centred

Every package is built around a co-produced, person-centred support plan that reflects the individual's unique strengths, goals, preferences, and aspirations.

Flexible Support Packages

Support packages are flexible and range from a few hours per week to 24-hour, one-to-one support, depending on the person's assessed needs.

Our Six Specialist Service Areas

We provide supported living services to the following six groups of adults, each with tailored approaches informed by recognised best practice frameworks, current NICE guidance, and CQC quality standards:

Supported living for working-age adults

Adults Aged 18 to 65

We support working-age adults to maintain and develop their independence, pursue employment and educational opportunities, build relationships, and participate fully in their communities. Support plans emphasise enabling the person to achieve personal goals, including securing employment, volunteering, further education, independent travel, and developing daily living skills. We adopt a strengths-based approach, focusing on what each person can do and building on their existing abilities.

Adults Aged 65 and Over

We provide compassionate support that enables older adults to remain living in their own homes for as long as possible, avoiding unnecessary hospital attendance or residential care. Our approach is guided by NICE Guideline NG21 and includes falls prevention, nutrition and hydration monitoring, polypharmacy awareness, support to maintain social connections, and coordination with community health services including district nurses, physiotherapists, and GPs.

People with Physical Disabilities

We focus on removing barriers, promoting autonomy, and enabling people to do as much as possible for themselves. Support is developed in collaboration with occupational therapists and physiotherapists, and includes moving and handling support, assistive technology, mobility aids, and advocacy to ensure people can access all the community facilities and opportunities they need.

People Living with Dementia

Our specialist dementia support is guided by NICE Guideline NG97 and the person-centred dementia care principles developed by Professor Tom Kitwood. We provide detailed life history work, tailored communication strategies, structured routines, meaningful activities, and environmental adaptations. All staff complete specialist dementia training including the Dementia Care Mapping approach.

People with Mental Health Needs

We deliver recovery-oriented support for people living with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, personality disorders, and other enduring mental health conditions. Our Registered Manager's expertise as a Trainee Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) provides the company with specialist knowledge of mental health legislation, crisis management, and recovery-focused practice. Support includes Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAPs), crisis plans, and coordination with community mental health teams.

People with Learning Disabilities and/or Autistic People

Our support is delivered in full alignment with CQC's Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture framework, the REACH Standards, and Building the Right Support (NHS England, 2015). We promote maximum choice, control, and independence, with restrictive practices avoided wherever possible. All staff complete the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism, and specialist training includes positive behaviour support, communication strategies, and sensory processing awareness.

Our Operational Model

Genuine Tenancy and Housing Separation

Winsome Care Ltd operates exclusively as a care and support provider. We do not own, lease, or manage any housing. Every person we support has a genuine tenancy with an independent housing provider, with all the rights and responsibilities that tenancy brings.

This includes the right to choose their care provider, the right to change provider without losing their home, security of tenure, the right to personalise their home, and the freedom to have visitors and come and go as they please.

Rent and care charges are always invoiced separately by the housing provider and Winsome Care Ltd respectively. This clear separation is fundamental to our model and ensures full compliance with the REAL Tenancy Test and CQC registration requirements.
